Fun Facts!

Here are a fun list of facts about the team and its players that you probably won't find anywhere else!

  1. There are nine nursing majors on the team!
  2. There are 2 full sets of twins on the team, but 5 have a twin!
  3. McCabes nieces, who are very close with the team are also twins!
  4. Three of the players came from Cortland High School.
  5. Two players came from Liverpool High School.
  6. Two players came from Bethlehem High School.
  7. Syd DeVitto and Alex Rohloff received NCAA Player of the Week awards this season.
  8. Three players also play another Varsity Sport at St. John Fisher College.
  9. Three players studied abroad in countries such as Italy, Spain and Australia.
  10. Two nursing majors obtained a 4.0 last semester.
  11. The team has the second highest GPA at St. John Fisher College.
  12. The team has a player-coach ratio of 4:1.
  13. The team is currently trying to start a bone marrow donation fund.
  14. The starting line-up is unique as the team plays a 4-2-3-1.
  15. Eight players received all-conference honors these 2012 season.
  16. Amanda Konieczny earned First Team All conference.
  17. Second Team All Conference was awarded to Heather Konieczny, Vicki Alfieri, Alex Rohloff, Chelsea Oberkrieser and Syd DeVitto.
  18. Honorable mention was awarded to Caley Manuel.
  19. Val Hanson earned Sportswoman of the year.
  20. There are numerous nicknames on the team, Trip, Rollie and Heff are a few (Caitlin Cottone is infamous for tripping, Alex Rohloff is known as Rollie and Heather loves Winnie the Pooh's Heffalumps.

While the team has some pretty unique and crazy aspects, the bonds formed are stronger than most teams. They are friends on and off the field, a family.
